About Us

At Teens With Trauma, we believe that every young person has the right to access high-quality mental health care, especially those who have survived the trauma of sexual abuse. Sadly, for many teenagers from low income, uninsured or undocumented families, this kind of care is out of reach. That's where we come in.

By funding research based, specialized therapy, we strive to ensure that every teenager who comes to us for help receives the care that they need and deserve. We believe that no survivor should ever have to suffer alone, and we are committed to making a difference in the lives of those we serve.

Through our work, we hope to create a world where teenage survivors of sexual abuse can receive the support and care they need to heal and thrive. We envision a future where every young person, regardless of their financial situation or immigration status, has access to evidence-based and trauma-focused mental health services. We are committed to making this vision a reality, one survivor at a time.

Our Mission

To inspire hope, ignite resilience, and empower healing for teenage survivors of sexual abuse.

Our Vision

To empower teenage survivors of sexual abuse to reclaim their power, rewrite their stories, and transform their pain into purpose through therapy, a community of support, and a vision for a brighter future.

Our Values

  1. Equity in Access to Care: We prioritize equity in access to care, believing that everyone should have equal opportunities to receive the care they need. This includes addressing systemic barriers and ensuring that marginalized communities have access to quality care.

  2. Empowerment: We believe in empowering survivors of sexual abuse by respecting their autonomy, providing them with information, and involving them in decision-making about their care. Our goal is to support survivors in taking back power and control over their lives, and to create a collaborative care plan that reflects their unique needs and goals.

  3. Trauma-Informed and Evidence-Based Care: We emphasize efficient and effective trauma-informed care by only working with therapists trained in evidence-based modalities. Our commitment to using trauma-trained therapists ensures our clients receive high-quality, personalized care.

  4. Collaboration: We understand that collaboration between our teenage clients, their families, and therapists to promote health and well-being is essential. By working together, we can provide comprehensive care that supports long-term success.

  5. Compassion: We value compassion as an essential element of care. We believe that showing kindness, empathy, and understanding towards our clients is crucial to their well-being and recovery. Our commitment to compassion ensures that our clients receive the support they need in a caring and non-judgmental environment.

At Teens with Trauma (TWT), we believe in fostering a supportive and empowering environment for our workforce. We prioritize the well-being and growth of our therapists by providing evidence-based training, limiting caseloads, and compensating them according to their skill level. By ensuring our therapists thrive in their careers, they can effectively deliver high-quality care to teenage survivors of sexual abuse. Our commitment to supporting our therapists creates a ripple effect, resulting in enhanced effectiveness of care and a positive impact on the lives of the courageous young individuals we serve.
