Organization: Teens with Trauma, a dynamic non-profit organization dedicated to supporting teenagers and children who have experienced sexual abuse and trauma.

Position Overview:

Teens with Trauma is on a mission to empower and heal young survivors of sexual abuse and trauma. We are seeking a dedicated and bilingual Clinical Practice Intern to join our team. The ideal candidate will be fluent in both English and Spanish, and they should possess a deep commitment to making a difference in the lives of teenagers and children affected by sexual abuse and trauma. This internship provides a unique opportunity for you to gain invaluable clinical experience while working closely with a highly trained trauma therapist and clinical supervisor.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Support: Collaborate closely with our trauma therapist and clinical supervisor to offer support to teenagers and children who have experienced sexual abuse.

  • Bilingual Assistance: Act as a bridge for non-English-speaking clients, conducting therapy sessions, assessments, and communication in Spanish when needed.

  • Assessment and Documentation: Assist in conducting assessments, maintaining case notes, and preparing progress reports for clients.

  • Individual and Group Therapy: Participate in individual and group therapy sessions under the guidance of a licensed therapist.

  • Training: Access training sessions to gain experience in evidence-based trauma modalities, including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), and other therapeutic approaches.

  • Collaboration: Work with a diverse team of professionals, including social workers and counselors, to provide comprehensive care for clients.

  • Client Advocacy: Be a strong advocate for clients' needs and rights, offering a safe and empathetic environment for recovery.

  • Administrative Tasks: Assist with various administrative duties as necessary, such as scheduling appointments and maintaining records.

Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in or recently graduated from a Master's level clinical psychology, counseling, social work, or related program.

  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.

  • Passionate about helping teenagers and children affected by sexual abuse and trauma.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.

  • Reliable, dedicated, and compassionate.
